Law School Graduation

What a crazy last few weeks.  John went to San Fransisco to hang out at the Google IO conference.  He loved the conference but then got stuck in Houston on his flight  home. He ended up getting home a day late, his luggage lost, and he caught a major cold.  While he was traveling I was taking my last law school finals.  I took my finals early so that I could spend my week cleaning and organizing the house.  I organized out office by spray painting my file cabinet to be black and moved both of my bookshelves in the office.  As soon as I get my JD diploma I plan on hanging all our diplomas on one wall in the office.  I then spent some time stripping, sanding, and refinishing an old bed my grandma gave me.  I now have a guest bed. Yeah.  All of this was just prep work for all the family coming in for the big day.

On Friday the day before graduation I went to breakfast at Mimi's Cafe with my law school friends who would be graduating with me.  That night my parent, grandparents, and us went to the alumni BBQ at the school.  I was disappointed that they did not have the pig as in years past.  We also took my parents to see Pirates of the Caribbean 4 in IMAX.

On Saturday I woke up so excited.  The momentum that I would be graduating for the last time had been building.  For breakfast we had over John Sr. and Donna along with my parents to eat.  Then I went the the statehouse convention center to line up, take pictures, and finally get my diploma.  It was so exciting knowing that all the time and effort from these last three years had paid off.

One of my classmates spoke about how law school was the avenue we had taken to change the direction in our lives.  I am glad I choose to do it.  After the reception and the bus ride to our car at parked at the Clinton Presidential Library we went back to our house and had a cookout with my grandparents, parents, and the Waller family.  It was wonderful getting to see so many family members there to support me.  Now I just have to start studying for the bar....
