If you have internet and have not yet discovered Hulu you are missing out. What to do if you don't have cable or cannot tivo/media center your favorite tv shows, well you watch them on hulu.  Hulu allows you to watch your favorite shows for free online (currently it is free but that may change in the upcoming year but the fee will be nominal).
